Earth, ovens, art! Technical & design assistance in earth, wood, and other materials

I’m happy to provide direct, in-person technical & design assistance, by phone or (locally, at least) in person, whether you want help designing and building your oven, or some other art-related, teaching or design project. I’ve been building ovens for 25 years, and have worked as a teaching artist in schools and with communities in the US and abroad. In addition to other arts, I also make custom woodenwares from local greenwood — everything from turned and hand-carved bowls and spoons, hand-lettered wooden signs, and simple, affordable coffins to gong stands and other unusual furniture. In addition to a background in teaching and community development, I’ve published professionally in mainstream media, edited a community newspaper, and done free-lance work — as well as publishing a few of my own and others’ titles under this small imprint.
